Although spiciness is subjective and a pure matter of taste, the positive health effects of spicy food cannot be dismissed out of hand. Spicy dishes fire up the metabolism and help to lose weight faster. In addition, digestion is stimulated and the immune system is strengthened. In addition to the physical effect, according to science, the substances piperine and capsaicin, which are contained in chili and pepper, are supposed to lift the mood and thus improve the mood.
Consequently a traditional chicken curry is the perfect meal to keep you healthy, happy and fit.
Ingredients:
- 300 g cooked chicken
- 200 ml coconut milk
- 2 tbsp yellow curry paste
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 cm ginger
- ½ chilli
- 1 onion
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons of peanut butter
- ½ fresh coriander
- ½ lime
Preparation:
- Chop the onion, bell pepper, garlic, ginger and chili into small pieces. Saut in a deep pan with coconut oil for about 5 minutes.
- Add curry paste, stir in and deglaze with coconut milk. Simmer for 15 minutes at low temperature.
- Then add the peanut butter and chicken and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Before serving, pour the finely chopped coriander and a splash of lime over the curry.
- Serve with basmarti rice if you like.
